VPN and guest account changes
VPN changes: All RCC guest account users will need to obtain guest FSUIDs. This change was triggered by the recent requirement of using two-factor authentication using DUO on all FSU VPN profiles.
Two-factor Authentication on FSU VPN
You may have seen the announcement that VPN access now requires two-factor authentication (2FA) using the DUO application. We have updated the instructions on our off-campus access guide to reflect this change.
Guest account policy changes
Due to the new VPN 2FA requirements, we have updated our policy regarding RCC guest accounts. Starting immediately, every RCC guest account holder must obtain a sponsored guest FSUID in order to login to the VPN.
We typically prefer to give our users advance notice of changes like this, but this campus-wide change was implemented very quickly.
If you are a guest user and need a guest FSUID, please refer to this guide in order to start the process for obtaining one. You can also contact RCC support, and we will help you through the process.
Removal of Aruba VIA VPN Service
Finally, we want to remind everybody that if you are using the Aruba VIA VPN service, please switch to AnyConnect as soon as possible. ITS will be disabling the VIA VPN on September 10, 2020, per the announcement posted in July.
