Recent HPC Cluster Upgrades

We recently installed 40 new nodes in the HPC.  This increased the cluster by 1600 cores (80 processors).  Peak cluster performance is now 266 TeraFlops!

Every year, we purchase new nodes for the HPC and occassionally cycle old nodes out of the cluster.  This year, we installed 24 nodes, each with the following specs:

  • 2 Intel(R) Xeon(R) Gold 6148 CPU @ 2.40GHz with 20 cores (40 cores per node)
  • 192GB RAM

With this upgrade and the recent software upgrade, the FSU HPC Cluster now sports the following specs:

  • 266 peak TFLOPS
  • 736 nodes
  • 15,200 cores
  • 801 TB parallel storage
  • 17,889,387 jobs run since August 2008

That's a lot of jobs!  Keep up the good work, FSU research community!
