Improved login node disk performance

We've recently upgraded our login nodes.  Our nodes now connect to the GPFS storage system via a 10GB/s interface (a 10x improvement in speed).

In the past, you may have noticed some latency when logging into or performing file operations on the login nodes.  In an effort to lessen these performance delays, we have upgraded the network interface our login nodes to 10Gb/s (previously they were 1Gb/s).

This includes the uplink to the GPFS storage system.  We believe this will create a smoother experience when working on our login nodes.  For more information about connecting and using the login nodes, refer to our documentation.
