In the coming months, we will be deploying a brand new storage system! This system will supplement our existing Lustre and Panasas systems.

FSU is collaborating with our fellow institutions in the SSERCA Alliance to purchase and implement a storage solution from DataDirect Networks. The system will fill many use-cases currently not already supported by the RCC:

• Second Tier storage (offloading from parallel HPC file systems)
• Cloud storage provisioning for VMs in RCC's SKY Cluster (OpenStack)
• Data replication over campus or over FLR to other SSERCA members (inexpensive high speed data replication)
• Dropbox-like access to big data (general purpose access to large amounts of data)
