Intro to HPC Workshop
This workshop will cover the basics of using the High Performance Computing cluster (HPC) to run jobs. It is a great introduction for users new to the HPC or those who wish to brush up on current best-practices and workflows for using the HPC at FSU.
- How the HPC works
- What the Slurm Scheduler is and how to use it
- Slurm job submission and job management commands
Workshop Format
This is an interactive, hands-on workshop. It will be held in a fully-equipped classroom laboratory with computers. Attendees may bring their own notebook computers, but this will not be necessary.
Instructor
This workshop is led by Paul van der Mark, RCC Director. Dr. van der Mark has been at the HPC/RCC since 2007, and has extensive experience in high performance computing.
Location
The location of these workshops is Dirac Science Library Room 152 (map). NOTE: The entrance is located on the southeast corner of the building, across from the Oceanography building next to the parking garage. Use that entrance, not the main library entrance.
