The RCC offers MATLAB for general use on many of our systems, making it easy to connect and use it without obtaining a personal copy. This workshop will cover the basics of using MATLAB at the RCC.

• Different ways to run MATLAB at RCC resources
• Best practices in MATLAB programming
• Using MATLAB profiler to find bottlenecks in your code
• Introduction to parallel programming in MATLAB

You may wish to also register for our Advanced MATLAB Programming Workshop, which occurs two days later, and builds upon concepts in this workshop.

Workshop Format

This is an interactive, hands-on workshop. The workshop will take place in a fully-equipped classroom laboratory with furnished computers. Attendees may bring their own notebook computers, but this will not be necessary.

Location

The location of these workshops is Dirac Science Library Room 150-K (map). NOTE: The entrance is located on the southeast corner of the building, across from the Oceanography building next to the parking garage. Use that entrance, not the main library entrance.

Instructor

This workshop will be led by Prasad Maddumage, PhD, an Applications Specialist at RCC. Prasad has over seven years of experience using scientific development tools such as MATLAB, and has led several MATLAB training sessions for the RCC in the past.
